Re: Policy and Procedures on Postage
POLICY
The University of Houston Postal Services provides mailing services. The University of Houston, College of Optometry (UHCO) has a mailroom located on the second floor, room 2107, which provides as a pick-up and drop-off point for postal services. Only UHCO business-related mail shall be charged to UHCO accounts.
PROCEDURES
- Every effort should be made to adhere to mailing guidelines as specified by UH Postal Services and US Postmaster.
- UH Postal Services uses a bar code system in which to charge back to UHCO for mailing services. Use bar coded attachment on all business-related out-going mail.
- Massive mailouts may require the use of Service Center Requisitions (SCR) which are processed by the Optometry Business Office with proper documentation. See Robert Campbell for details.
- Postal charges appear on monthly FRS reports for review and posting by Opt Business Office’s Financial Asst. and College Business Administrator.
- No personal or non-UHCO outgoing mail shall be charged to the University. Failure to adhere to this directive shall result in any or all of the following: formal reprimand, formal charges, termination.
- This policy will be reviewed yearly and/or revised as needed.
