Re: Cashier’s Area Policy and Procedures
POLICY
The University of Houston, College of Optometry has a Cashier’s area in the Clinic Business Office. It is the responsibility of the Coordinator of the Clinic Business Office and the Cashiers to secure the University’s monetary assets and conduct business in a professional manner.
PROCEDURES
The Cashier’s front counter is a secured area. Only authorized persons may be admitted. Entry is restricted to employees of the Clinic Business Office, armored car personnel, UH Police, accounting, auditing and management staff conducting official university business.
Any other person must have the permission of the supervisor prior to entering the area.
No other staff, private citizens, relatives of employees or students may be granted access to the Cashier’s area.
Work stations should be kept neat and clean. If you must use another employee’s work station, please leave it the way you found it.
If the cashier leaves his/her station for any reason, the money drawer must be locked.
Food or drinks are not allowed at the work stations.
Candy or any other items for sale may not be placed on the Cashier’s front counter.
Cashiers shall be in uniform as required by other clinic staff.
Personal business is not allowed at the reception counter . Any questions should be directed to the supervisor.
Any exception to this policy must be cleared through the supervisor.
